Splitting Sales Order into a Backorder

Splitting Sales Order

It may happen that one or more products in an order are temporarily out of stock. At that moment, the sales order will automatically be put on hold. When all goods return and you (or a colleague) place them in the warehouse, the order will automatically receive the status 'ready for picking'. Sales orders will be processed automatically as soon as possible.

When an order contains products that are in stock as well as products that are temporarily out of stock, you can split the order, allowing you to ship the products that are in stock immediately. How do you process part of a sales order in Stoqflow? By clicking 'split' at the top of the order details page, you will have the opportunity to split the order into a backorder.

Backorder

The products that are not in stock are placed in a backorder (easily findable using the original order number with suffix '-BO'). That backorder can be further split when certain products become available. As soon as all products from a backorder are back in stock, this backorder will also automatically receive the status 'ready for picking'.

From the original order, you can always see how many backorders have been created and therefore have visibility into the total order.
